April School Contest: Book Review
We will kick off this month with a great literacy contest. All students in grades k-8 can participate in this amazing opportunity. To enter the contest student's will read a Grade appropriate book of their choice and submit a book review.
Contest Outline:
All Students that submit a Book Review to Mrs Bamford by Friday May 1st will be entered.
Book reviews may come in many different forms such as:
* a blog entry.
* a typed book report shared on your Google Classroom Library Page.
* K-1 students may write a sentence or draw a picture of their entry.
Contest Rules:
1. Must be completed independently by a student (gr 2-8) using his or her own original ideas. Your report must include a brief description of the main ideas of the book, why you choose it, genre (horror, mystery, fantasy...), characters you liked or disliked and why.
2. Must include the title of the book and authors name clearly recorded
3. Students name and grade must appear on each entry but will not be posted online.
4. Must be Gr K-1: 1 sentence or picture.
Gr 2-4: Half a page in length.
Gr 5-8 Full page in length.
Winners will be announced at the end of the month. Once school reopens they will receive a voucher for their choice of 1 free book and bookmark from our next Bookfair!
